1. Rental Agreement Summary

By confirming a booking with VeloLanka, you agree to these terms. A booking is confirmed upon receipt of the required deposit. All rentals are subject to vehicle availability and driver licence verification at pickup.

2. Booking & Cancellation Policy

• • Free cancellation: Cancel 48 hours or more before scheduled pickup — full refund of deposit.
• • Late cancellation: Cancel within 48 hours of pickup — 50% of the total rental rate is charged.
• • No-show: Failure to collect the vehicle without prior notice — 100% of the rental rate is charged.
• • Force majeure: Cancellations due to flight delays, natural disasters, or government travel advisories will be assessed case by case. We will always endeavour to reschedule at no cost.

3. Security Deposit

Security deposits are collected at pickup and returned within 3 business days of vehicle return, subject to inspection. Deposits may be held by bank transfer or cash in LKR or USD.

4. International Driver Requirements

VeloLanka will verify all documents at pickup. Failure to present valid documents will result in cancellation without refund of the deposit.

5. Fuel Policy

All vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel. They must be returned with a full tank. If returned with less fuel, the cost of refuelling plus a LKR 1,500 service charge will be deducted from the security deposit.

6. Damage Liability & Insurance

All VeloLanka vehicles carry comprehensive motor insurance valid in Sri Lanka. In the event of an accident:

• • The renter is liable for the insurance excess (LKR 25,000 standard / LKR 50,000 premium vehicles)
• • The police report number must be obtained and provided to VeloLanka within 24 hours
• • Damage caused by reckless driving, DUI, or off-road use voids all insurance cover
• • Theft of the vehicle: renter is liable for the full insurance excess

7. Payment

We accept:

A deposit of 30% of the total rental value is required to confirm a booking. The balance is due at pickup.
